With FringeNYC 2014 fast approaching, it's about time I got out the old highlighter and Festival Guide and picked which of the 213 shows I intend to see in between my busy teaching, rehearsal, and performance schedule this August.
Without further ado, here are my top 6 picks for FringeNYC 2014. Maybe I'll see you at one of them!
1) ...Because who doesn't love puppets!?!

1950’s suburbia comes to the FringeNYC stage- drenched in Technicolor, decked in vintage TV sets with incredibly mixed messages, and chock-full of freakin’ awesome puppets that have a lot to get off their fleecy chests. DRAMA. CAFFEINE. PUPPETS.

The Summer 2014 Training Ensemble (aka The Complicite Ensemble) continues to train hard and grow strong! Be sure you mark your calendars for their end-of-quarter Showcase on Friday, September 12 at 8pm and RSVP on Facebook to experience their amazing teaching at Open Training, free and open to the public on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month.
Here's who you can expect to see teaching this month...
Tristan Schaffer-Goldman is an actor/writer/comedian working in NYC. Tristan has a BS in theater from Skidmore College, where he studied extensively in physical theater. In 2009, he attended the Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy where he specialized in Commedia dell’Arte and acrobatics. Tristan can be seen doing stand-up and improv comedy around the the city, and is currently playing Petrucchio in Random Access Theater's production of Taming of the Shrew, performing at Brooklyn Bridge Park this summer. Tristan is thrilled to be a part of such a creative and talented ensemble, and looks forward to pushing the limits of both mind and body in the time to come!
Join us for The Ume Group's Open Training on August 12 at 7pm to meet Tristan in-person and experience his 30-minute workshop!
