Here's who's teaching on November 24...

Suzy Kohane

Picture
Suzy holds her BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Actor Training Program. She is a returning member of The Acting Company, a touring repertory company which promotes theater and literacy by bringing classical productions and exceptional new works into communities across America — particularly those where live performance and theater arts education is limited or non-existent. Last season the company toured and performed Hamlet and Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead. This season they will present Macbeth and a new adaptation of Mark Twains A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court. Other New York credits include Short Life of Trouble(Wandering Bark Theater Company), a mash-up of Hamlet, Faulkner, and blue grass music that performed this past summer at The Access Theater. Regional credits: The Primrose Path (Guthrie Theater), Company (Theatre Latte Da), As You Like It (Public Theater of Minnesota), Twelfth Night (The Strange Capers), The Triumph of Love(Minnesota Centennial Showboat). Suzy is also in the process of adapting The Portrait of a Lady by Henry James into a new performance piece.

Join us for The Ume Group's Open Training on November 25 at 7pm to meet Suzy in-person and experience her workshop "Getting Physical with Punctuation."

Chris Rehmann

Picture
Originally from Mississippi, Chris began performing at a very young age. He spent his adolescent years as the "theatre kid", studied ballet heavily in high school, and then moved to New York to study drama at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, Chris studied in the Experimental Theatre Wing, where he discovered his love of physical acting as well as experiential sound and movement. At ETW, Chris collaborated on several devised pieces and most recently appeared in 5th Floor Theatre Company's Debbie Does Dallas at Teatro Circulo. Since graduating from NYU, Chris has completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training at the Satya Yoga Center in Rhinebeck, NY. He currently works at a charter school in Brooklyn, where he has the privilege of teaching yoga and theatre games as needed. He also teaches Yoga & Movement at PS 59 through Hosh Kids Yoga. He is very excited for the opportunity to grow with The Ume Group and for the wonderful new group of artists he has been introduced to.

Join us for The Ume Group's Open Training on November 25 at 7pm to meet Chris in-person and experience her workshop "Grotowski's Cat"
