Dream Dances is an original, devised dance work which draws on gymnastics, butoh, and yoga nidra to create a theatrical experience inspired by the real dreams of the people who perform it.
It will run from 2 - 4 weekends to be determined in March 2015 at The Ume Group's creative home, Grace & St. Paul's Church on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Production Interns will be involved in everything from rehearsal documentation, props coordination, and lighting and scenic installation to run crew for the performances. Other tasks may be assigned by the Producing Artistic Director based on each applicant's expressed interest and availability. In exchange for their work, interns will be receive recognition on The Ume Group's website, access to informal mentorship opportunities by members of the ensemble and free classes.
Ideal candidates will be available for all or most of the scheduled rehearsals and/or performances.
Rehearsals: Thursday evenings, 7pm - 10pm, January 8 - February 26
Tech Rehearsals: March 1 - 2
Performances: March 5 -7, 2015 (with an optional extension through March 28)
