The Ume Group School
Butoh & Movement for Physical TheatreButoh & Movement for Physical Theatre is designed to teach not only Butoh practice itself but a sense for how one can apply this practice to physical theatre. Butoh brings the vibrancy of life. And its practice challenges your limitations physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It will increase concentration, relaxation, stage presence, breathing, emotional capacity, physical stamina, flexibility, imagination, and core engagement, and in this way develop your own “living body”: you may experience more “living” than you do in your daily life. Butoh cultivates and activates your vital energy. This Workshop incorporates Japanese Butoh, yoga, basic acrobatic & gymnastics, Trisha Arnold Movement, Linklater Voice, and acting.
