About the Workshop
In The Ume Group's first-ever Ritual Movement Workshop artistic directors Jordan Rosin and Yokko put their eclectic and diverse decades of movement and performance experience to the service of all in a weekend-long workshop that promises personal transformation for any who come with an open mind and a willingness to play.
Using techniques of yoga, meditation, and Japanese Butoh dance, Jordan & Yokko guide participants in pursuit of their essential selves on a journey of reflection, rejuvenation, and wonder.
Each day begins with stillness & silence, followed by highly accessible lessons in yoga and butoh designed to help participants realize the power of their own sacred creative energies. Whether you’re a performer or non-performer, beginner or advanced, this workshop aims to strip your personal expression of artifice and pretense through engagement with simple, but surprisingly challenging physical tasks.
